Sneijder is not going anywhere, insists Stramaccioni

Rome: Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has guaranteed that Wesley Sneijder will not leave the club after previously casting doubt about the Dutchman`s future in Milan.

The Italian coach had earlier fuelled speculation that Sneijder could be sold in the summer after declaring that no one in the squad was indispensable due to the club`s financial situation. Stramaccioni has now moved to clarify his previous comments, insisting that the Netherlands international will not depart the club even if they receive a big-money offer. "Today at the press conference I mentioned Wesley because I think that, right now, he is the Inter player with the highest market value, and it shows you that no one is untouchable in football today," he said. "I immediately received worried phone calls from him, but I stressed to him that he is my No.10 and he`s not going anywhere." The 36-year-old then thanked Inter president Massimo Moratti for giving him the opportunity to guide the club`s first team, despite the fact that he had no previous coaching experience at senior level. "I have already said that the most satisfying thing is having received the president`s great faith in me," he said. "In Italian football, the media circus is important. In my opinion the coach has to be first to assume his responsibilities, and that is how I am outside of the sport as well."
