Sporting face uphill task against Dempo

Panaji: Sporting Clube de Goa will have some tough tasks in hand when they take on a confident Dempo, who are eyeing nothing less than full points to climb on top of the tally, in their 11th round I-League match at the Nehru Stadium in Margao.

Dempo, who drew with Chirag United in their last match, saw them lose the top position and will require full points against Sporting to return at the top. They are now one point behind table-toppers Mahindra United and Mohun Bagan who are tied on 20 points each.

Sporting have improved their performance but are now the only team without a win in the tournament.

Although they have put up spirited performance against the top teams but failed to find the elusive win and are lying at the bottom of the tally with five points from nine outings.

The goalless draw against defending champion Churchill Brothers in their last match will give them confidence.

Sporting will miss their defender Mathew Gonsalves, who got injured in their last tie against Churchill Brothers, as Chandrashekar Chinta will replace him in tomorrow`s match.
