Berlin: Werder Bremen want evergreen Lazio striker Miroslav Klose to come back and help with their struggle against relegation, German daily Sports Bild reported on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old Klose is under contract at Italian club Lazio until the end of the season, but scored 53 league goals for Werder between 2004-2007.
"If he were to become available we`d certainly be interested in him," said Werder sports director Thomas Eichin, whose side went into the German winter break third from bottom of the Bundesliga.
"It`s be a dream. A player with such experience could really help the younger players," said Werder`s Ukrainian coach Viktor Skripnik.
Klose set a German record of 71 international goals (from 137 games) during the course of their triumphant World Cup campaign in 2014, where he also scored a record 16th goal at World Cup finals matches in what was his fourth finals.
