Subrata sets out for trails for Vancouver Whitecaps

Following fellow team mate Sunil Chhetri`s footsteps, Subrata Paul is now on his way to try his luck in the MLS.

Panaji: Following fellow team mate Sunil Chhetri`s footsteps, Subrata Paul is now on his way to try his
luck in the MLS. For the last couple of months, the talks have been on of his trials but the goalkeeper couldn`t travel due to an injury and that Pune FC had a large chunk of matches remaining in the I-League. Vancouver Whitecaps play their trade in the USSF Division Two, the second tier of American and Canadian soccer pyramids. The club has been granted an opportunity to play in the MLS starting next season. Confirming the news of his trial, Subrata Pauls, agent Arvind Narayan said, "He left for his trials early on Tuesday which shall last for about six days." If all clicks well, Subrata may well play in the MLS. Vancouver Whitecaps, currently coached by former Iceland International striker Teitur Thordarson, already has two goalkeepers on their roster. However, neither of the goalkeepers in the current squad have experience of playing for the national team like Subrata Paul has. PTI
