Tevez decides against appealing contract breach ban

London: Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez will not contest his misconduct charge.

According to a report, it is understood that Tevez believes a move away from the club in the January transfer window is now the best option.

City had fined Tevez four weeks wages - about one million pounds - for what they say were five separate breaches of contract in a Champions League game against Bayern Munich in September.

A club investigation had found the 27-year-old guilty of refusing to play in the match.

The striker has not played for the club since starting in the 2-0 Carling Cup win over Birmingham in September.
