New Delhi: Luis Suarez continued his glorified presence on field after adding another feather to his cap against Norwich City on Wednesday. The Liverpool striker scored his 30th goal for the Reds this season in the EPL. With this tally he became the second Liverpool player in history to score 30 goals in domestic league after Ian Rush. Rush had achieved the feat in 1987, when Liverpool also went on to win the English title that season.

He also became the seventh player in EPL to record a 30-goal tally in a single season. Suarez has been at his best and has led Liverpool to the summit. He also leads the list of probables to win the PFA player of the year. And the tally will increase as Liverpool still have three matches to play. Such has been Suarez`s presence on the pitch and along with Daniel Sturridge, Phillipe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling, he has formed a dangerous partnership. Liverpool have forwarded 96 goals this season and have won 11 matches in a row.

Suarez who was determined to leave Anfield in search for Champions League football last summer, had garnered interest from major European clubs, mainly Arsenal. Arsene Wenger had bid 40mn for Suarez and knew he could solve Arsenal`s crisis upfront and win the title for him. But a determined Brendan Rodgers prevented him from leaving. After serving a nine-match ban following the ear biting incident involving Chelsea`s Branislas Ivanovic, Suarez has risen from all fronts and has grown as a player and a person too.

He penned a new five-year deal last year, and has been accepted by the fans once again. He is loved by one and all and the Uruguayan has made sure Rodger`s decision to keep him wasn`t a mistake. He is on course to win Liverpool`s first domestic title since 1994 and a place in next season`s Champions League football- two things that Suarez desired the most.
