Totti extends Roma deal, will stay on after retirement

Rome: Francesco Totti has agreed to extend his contract with AS Roma to June 30, 2014 in a deal that will see him stay on at the club when his playing days are over.

Under the agreement, announced by the Serie A club in a statement on Wednesday, the 33-year-old Italian forward will be guaranteed a place on the club`s technical staff when he stops playing.

Totti, the Roma captain, will be paid 8.9 million euros (USD12.97 million) gross for the current season and 8.6 million euros a year for the following four seasons of the new deal, Roma said.
