New Delhi: Europe's football governing body UEFA has named Theodore Theodoridis as interim general secretary on Thursday.
The Greek administrator will take over from new FIFA president Gianni Infantino. However, with the fate of embattled Michel Platini still prevailing, this new development may not bring an end to the uncertainties.
However, the fate of president Michel Platini is still uncertain as the French football legend is currently serving a six year ban over a suspected USD 2 million payment from former FIFA boss Sepp Blatter.
But if he wins an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), Platini could in fact return to decide who he wants as his right-hand man.
It was believed that Theodoridis' promotion was affected to fill the power vacuum in UEFA after the suspension of Platini and Infantino's election to the FIFA top post.
