Venkys set to take call on boss Kean’s fate after fans’ failure to attend matches

London: Blackburn Rovers global advisor Shebby Singh has claimed club’s Indian owners, Venkys would take a final call on infamous manager Steve Kean’s future.

Rovers’ 2-1 defeat by Middlesbrough on Friday looked set to be the final straw, with angry fans turning their back on the club while he remains in charge

“It (the speculation) should not have been allowed to escalate like that, but it did and the situation gets worse by the day. Financially now it is not a good situation because the fans are staying away. The club needs revenue to survive,” the Daily Star quoted Singh, as saying.

“I guess with having played seven games now I think it is a situation which is not a very pleasant one and I suppose it is my bosses, the owners of the club, who have to make an assessment,” he added.
