London: Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said on Sunday that captain Vincent Kompany will undergo tests on Monday after injuring his hamstring in his side`s 3-0 win at Southampton.
Kompany limped off in the latter stages of the game at St Mary`s, shortly after Gael Clichy had scored from Sergio Aguero`s pass in the 88th minute to complete the scoring.
"Kompany has a problem in (his) hamstring," Pellegrini told his post-match press conference. "But we`ll see tomorrow (Monday) if it`s just a cramp or it`s an injury."
City`s victory took the defending champions above Southampton into second place in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Chelsea.
