Viva, ONGC split points
Kannur: Hosts Viva Kerala and ONGC, Mumbai split points after a goalless draw in the I-League at the Jawahar Municipal stadium here on Saturday.
Both the teams were to be blamed for the goalless draw.
However, Viva could have won the match had their strikers been on target.
In the 18th minute, Viva`s Pradeep sent in a high floater into the area and Charles Dzisah jumped high to head the ball, but his weak header was fisted out by ONGC goalkeeper Bili Sang Narzary.
Again in the 72nd minute with Narzary alone at the goalpost, Viva`s striker Anil Kumar drove wide of the margin, much to the dismay of his teammates.
With this draw, Viva have garnered 26 points and are in the ninth position. They will play Chirag United, Kolkata on May 28.
