New Delhi: It seems that the Wayne Rooney transfer saga has finally reached its conclusion with various media reports suggesting that the striker has finally accepted to stay at Manchester United and will not be handing an official transfer request.
According to a report, Rooney hasn’t been offered a new contract as of now but his move will surely end Chelsea’s interest in signing him that saw Jose Mourinho issuing a 48-hour ultimatum to the striker to decide whether he wanted a move to Stamford Bridge or not.
Rooney was apparently unhappy at the comments made by new manager David Moyes which suggested that he will be a second choice striker at Old Trafford following the arrival of Robin van Persie.
Rooney had drawn praises for his commitment shown in United’s Premier League clash with Chelsea on Monday with Mourinho himself terming him ‘a real professional.’
