We have built a spectaular Real Madrid team: Perez
Madrid: Florentino Perez believes that he has helped Real Madrid to construct a spectacular team over the summer after a poor run of form had seen the club start going backwards.

Los Merengues` president was speaking at a gala for the club`s 100 oldest supporters and he was full of confidence that the latest project was going to be a success.

After spending around USD 250 million on new recruits since the end of last season, Perez reminded everyone that the club had slipped as it was not even a top seed in Europe.

"We will work to not fail," he was quoted as stating at the meeting of veteran fans by AS.
"We`ve built a spectacular team that appeals to fans after a season in which we cannot forget that for the first time in history, Real Madrid was not seeded in the Champions League."

Perez won back the presidency in July after stepping down in 2006 and he admitted that he felt like he had not ben away at all.
"By being here today with you, I feel that I never left," he continued.

"For me, without hesitation, this is one of the most important events because I can thank you for your proven support of Real Madrid, for making Real Madrid the best club in the world, because of the great success which have been achieved by the support of its partners."
