Wesley Sneijder returns to Dutch squad after 6 months

The Hague: Captain Wesley Sneijder returns to the squad after an absence of six months.

Tonny Vilhena was named in The Netherlands squad by coach Louis van Gaal for the 2014 World Cup qualifying matches against Estonia and Romania on March 22 and March 26 respectively.

The 18-year-old midfielder, who impressed this season with Feyenoord, received his first call-up.

The Netherlands are currently top of World Cup qualification Group D with 12 points from four matches. Hungary and Romania are second with 9 points from 4 matches.

The Netherlands squad:

Goalkeepers: Maarten Stekelenburg (AS Roma), Kenneth Vermeer (Ajax), Michel Vorm (Swansea City).

Defenders: Daley Blind (Ajax), Daryl Janmaat (Feyenoord), Joris Mathijsen (Feyenoord), Bruno Martins Indi (Feyenoord), Ricardo van Rhijn (Ajax), Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa), Stefan de Vrij (Feyenoord).

Midfielders: Jordy Clasie (Feyenoord), Jonathan De Guzman (Swansea City), Wesley Sneijder (Galatasaray), Kevin Strootman (PSV), Tonny Vilhena (Feyenoord), Rafael van der Vaart (Hamburger SV).
