New Delhi: Legendary footballer Zico has signaled that he may pull out of the FIFA presidential race as the Brazilian admitted that it is impossible for him to get the required backing of five confederations.
While talking with The Times of India Zico stated: “It's not possible (to contest). May be I will try the next time when rules are fair.”
“A candidate must have five nominations to contest elections. It's an unfair rule and in this situation it's difficult to get these nominations. This is something that needs to change,“ Zico further added.
As per the reports, the 62-year-old had met Sepp Blatter recently, asked the latter to relax the election rules but his request was turned down.
