Will India’s tour of Australia 2011-12 be a historic one for the visitors?

Last Updated: Friday, December 23, 2011 - 23:39

For once the odds are stacked equal. India seems to have an upper hand on paper while Australia are being cornered.

Will India script another history under the leadership of MS Dhoni or will Michael Clarke finally shine as a captain?

Will David Warner be the Australian answer to Virender Sehwag and can Nathan Lyon prove to be the trump card for the Aussies?

Can Zaheer Khan take the mantle to lead an inexperienced attack? Will Ishant Sharma find his groove back and can Umesh Yadav deliver the goods? It would be Peter Siddle at the other end leading the Australian attack. How will the young guns James Pattisnson and Mitchell Starc take the pressure?

And finally, will this be the end of the road for Ricky Ponting? Will Sachin Tendulkar score his long due historic century? Can Shane Watson perform to his potential or will VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid plunder the Aussies in their own backyard once again?
