Liverpool: Gurbani Singh, the lone Indian in the field, was tied 37th at the end of the second round of the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy golf at the Royal Liverpool GC.
Gurbani, the All India Junior champion, shot 85 in her first round and 83 in the second in extremely demanding conditions. With the wind playing havoc the golfers were left to battle the elements and just hang in.
The tournament is a 54-hole mixed event with 55 players, 27 boys and 28 girls from 31 countries.
The girls had an advantage as they hit shorter in windy conditions and held top places in the field.
Lisa McGuire of Ireland led the field with 80 and 72 in first two rounds. Lisa has been the only player with a par score of 72 in either rounds on two days so far.
