India tied 2nd after Rd 1 in Junior Golf Team championship

New Delhi: Chikkarangappa and Ashbeer Saini
fired identical rounds of three-under 68 to help India finish
tied second after the opening round of the World Junior Golf
Team Championship in Japan on Tuesday.

India joined Thailand at the second place at eight-under
with the US leading at 11-under, according to information
received here.

While Chikkarangappa and Ashbeer carded 68, Abhijit
Chadha returned two-under 69, while Khalin Joshi went
three-over 74. Three best cards out of four count for team

India is one of the 12 countries that qualified for the
event being played at the par-71 Chukyo Golf Club`s Ishino

This is the third time that Indian junior team has
qualified for the world team championship.
