West Virginia: Indian golfers Arjun Atwal (68) and Jeev Milkha Singh (69) remained in fray for weekend action after grabbing a share of the 42nd spot at the end of the Greenbrier Classic tournament’s second round here.
Both Atwal and Jeev total four-under 136 after two rounds, a couple of shots above the cutline.
Both the golfers were 10th tee starters and slipped after making fine starts.
Atwal, who lost his PGA card last week after failing to earn the requisite prize money this year, played out a flawless back-nine, studded with birdies on the 12th, 14th and 17th to make the turn three-under.
The front-nine was a slightly disappointing affair as Atwal dropped shots on the first and sixth before managing to end the day positively with a birdie on the ninth.
Jeev, on the other hand, stroked in back-to-back birdies on the 11th and 12th holes but he conceded shots on the 13th and 18th to make the turn even-par.
Jeev made some amends with a blemishfree front-nine which included a birdie on the second hole.
American Jeff Overton grabbed the lead after an impressive eight-under 62 took his overall total to 14-under 126.
Another American, Boo Weekley, took the second spot a stroke adrift after returning a 63 in the second round.
