Hilversum (The Netherlands): Shiv Kapur turned in a sparkling six-under 64 to grab a share of the
second spot but Jyoti Randhawa (74) seemed in danger of missing the cut after the opening round of the KLM Open golf tournament here. Delhi-pro Kapur opened with a birdie and picked up three more strokes before a bogey on the ninth had him three-under at the turn. Kapur`s back-nine was equally impressive as he pulled off birdies on the 12 and 17th and more then made up for a 16th-hole bogey by signing off his day with an eagle on the par-five 18th. Among other Indians in fray, Jeev Milkha Singh was tied 53rd after returning a one-under 69 in the opening round. The Chandigarh-golfer stroked in four birdies against three bogeys in a roller-coaster round. However, Jyoti Randhawa seemed in danger of missing the cut as he was tied 135th on the leader-board after carding a four-over 74 which comprised five bogeys and just one birdie. At the top, Nicolas Colsaerts grabbed sole lead with an eight-under 62 in the opening round. PTI
