Khalin Joshi tied third in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: Khalin Joshi fired a second successive 71 and moved up to tied third at the end of the second round of the Malaysian Open Amateur championships.

The Bangalore golfer has a total of 142 and he trails the leader Malaysian Gavin Green (72-65) by five shots and is two behind second placed Poom Saksansin of Thailand, who shot 69 and 71.

The other Indians are Honey Baisoya (72-75) and Sidharth (72-75) in tied 13th and Gagan Verma (75-73) in tied 17th and Vikram Rana (80-80) in tied 61st place.

The Indian team lost a medal chance, when they slipped from third to fourth place. They ended with a two-day total of 289 with Malaysia (281), Indonesia (286) and Thailand (286) taking the top three spots.
