Lahiri, Himmat tied sixth in King`s Cup

Indian golfers Anirban Lahiri and Himmat Rai turned in a matching three-under 69 to share the sixth spot after the opening round of the King`s Cup golf tournament on Thursday.

Amardip Malik carded one-under 71 to be the third best placed Indian at tied 24th, while Gurki Shergill brought home an erratic card of two-over 74 to lie tied 60th at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club. Among others, Feroz Ali was three-over 75 for the day and was placed at the tied 74th spot. At the top, Australian Tony Carolan played through the pain barrier of an injured elbow to post a flawless six-under-par 66 to take a one stroke lead over Korea`s Mo Joong-kyung. PTI
