Petaling Jaya: Anirban Lahiri fumbled in the closing stages to card a one-over 72 but still remained the highest-placed Indian golfer at tied 12th after the third round of the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters here on Friday.
Lahiri’s overall total stood at one-under 212 after he pulled off three birdies against a couple of bogeys and a double bogey in the third round.
Anong other Indians, Gaganjeet Bhullar finally managed to break par with a four-under 67, which included five birdies against a lone bogey. He was one-over 214 overall which gave him a share of the 24th position.
Further down, Rahil Gangjee was tied for the 50th spot after returning a two-over 73 in the third round which took his overall total to six-over 219.
Gaurav Singh lay second from bottom at the 64th spot after a horrendous 79 today took his three-day total to 14-over 227.
At the top of the leaderboard, Angelo Que of the Philippines charged into a one-shot lead after overcoming a sluggish start to card a three-under 68 and total five-under 208.
Chris Rodgers of England and countryman Juvic Pagunsan led the chasing pack with matching 69s at the tricky Seri Selangor Golf Club.
Malaysia’s Airil Rizman (72), Filipino Jay Bayron (70), Thai duo Chawalit Plaphol (69) and Namchoak Tantipokakul (71) and Australians Scott Barr (72) and Brad Smith (72) were a further shot back on 210.
