Merritt is Q-School medallist, no Tour card for Duval
Miami: American Troy Merritt beat compatriot Jeff Maggert by one stroke on Monday for medallist honours and a USD 50,000 prize at the US PGA Tour qualifying tournament.
Former U.S. Tour winners Neal Lancaster (17 under par), J.P. Hayes (-15), Joe Ogilvie (-11) and Chris Riley (-10) were also among the top 25 finishers at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach who earned their Tour cards for 2010.Notable players failing to secure tour membership included former British Open winners David Duval (tied for 90th at one-over par) and Todd Hamilton (WD), and 2003 PGA Championship winner Shaun Micheel (T-64).
