SHANGHAI : Francesco Molinari made a 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole to complete a 5-under 67 and hold off Lee Westwood for the lead after three rounds of the HSBC Champions. Molinari was at 14-under 202 and will be going for his first world title on Sunday.
Westwood at least is assured of keeping his No. 1 ranking, as the other three contenders struggled.
Molinari holed out from the 13th fairway for eagle and matched the best score Saturday. Westwood stayed right with him, chipping from just off the green on the par-5 18th to tap-in range for birdie and a 67.
Tiger Woods made back-to-back bogeys early in his round for a 73 10 shots out of the lead.
