NSG team wins 17th All India Police Golf meet

Srinagar: The NSG team today lifted the 17th All India Police Golf Tournament-2013 organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at the Royal Springs Golf Course here.

The Punjab team was declared the runner-up.

Governor N N Vohra, who was the Chief Guest at the prize distribution function, congratulated the winner and runner-up teams and other players who won prizes in various categories for participating in the tournament and playing in one of the best golf courses in the country.

He complimented Director General of state Police Ashok Prasad and the organising team for having taken the initiative of hosting this tournament.

The Governor released a souvenir brought out on the occasion.

Prasad presented a memento to the Governor as a memorabilia.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the DGP said that over 100 golfers from 31 states and central police organisations had participated in the tournament.

"Such sports events provide a valuable opportunity to interact and develop camaraderie with other Police organisations in the country," he said.
