Rohan wins maiden title at Toyota Etios Western Junior Golf

Mumbai : Jaipur-based golfer Rohan Sharma clinched his maiden title after carding four-over 74 on the final round of the Toyota Etios Western Junior Golf tour at the recently renovated Bombay Presidency Club here on Friday.

Honey Baisoya emerged as the winner of Category B and Prakhar Asawa topped the championship in Category C. Even after a bogey on the 4th, double bogey on the 9th and a Quadra bogey on the 12th hole, Rohan managed to win in style with an eagle on the 18th hole, carding a total of four over 74 on the final day to total 284 over 72 holes. Bangalore golfer Trishul Chinnappa emerged as the runner up to the tournament and Tarundeep Chadha followed as third. Trishul carded a total score of 286 while Tarundeep Chadha scored 289. "I am happy at winning the Toyota Etios Western Junior & Sub-junior tournament. The conditions were tough today and I was very disappointed with my Quadra bogey on the 12th hole. I maintained my basics right and the eagle on the last hole came as a big relief that helped me win the tournament," adds the first time winner, Rohan Sharma.In Category B, Delhi golfer Honey Baisoya topped the finals with a total score of 295. Placed second, was fellow golfer Manu Gandas with a score of 298 who was furthered by Shubhankar Sharma who scored a total of 302. In Category C, Prakhar Asawa from Rambagh Golf Club led the field with a total score 288 at the finals. Piyush Sangwan, from DLF Golf & Country Club at 299 was second and Kolkata Golfer, Tutul Ali was placed third with a total score of 306.In Category D Digraj Singh Gill topped with a total score of 239. Aadil Bedi at a score of 242, placed second. Amongst the girls, Seher Atwal from Delhi led the Category C at a score of 229 and Ankita Kedlaya was placed second at 240. PTI
