Pune: Sujjan Singh of Chandigarh and Delhi`s Himmat Singh Rai grabbed a three-stroke lead after the penultimate round of the PGTI Players golf Championship at Oxford Golf and Country Club.
Sujjan and Himmat are currently in the joint lead with a three-day total of eight-under 208 here.
Bangalore`s Abhishek Jha, meanwhile, broke the course record with an eight-under 64 today to lie tied second along with Shamim Khan of Delhi at five-under 211.
Sujjan (69-72), an Asian Tour regular, fired a solid bogey-free 67 in round three that pushed him from overnight eighth position to the top of the leaderboard.
Sujjan, who was four strokes off the pace at the end of round two, picked up birdies on the fourth, fifth and seventh after sinking some long putts.
Sujjan added two more birdies to his card on the 13th and 18th holes. He holed a 35 feet putt on the 18th to end the day on a high.
"I started off with some decent par putts on the first two holes that got my confidence going. I made a crucial birdie on the seventh as that hole was playing tough. I hit most of the greens and made some long putts especially on the fifth and the 18th. I adapted well to the conditions as the wind switched its direction today," said Sujjan.
