Thomas Bjorn seizes five-shot lead over Luke Donald at BMW PGA Championship

London: Danish golfer Thomas Bjorn has achieved a five-shot lead over his British counterpart Luke Donald after the third round of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth on Saturday.

The Dane picked up six straight birdies from the 11th in his five-under-par 67, while Donald, twice Wentworth champion, carded a 68 to be 10-under, one ahead of Irishman Shane Lowry.

According to the BBC, the 15-time European Tour winner kick-started his scintillating run with a 30-foot effort at the 11th and had stormed well clear of the field within the space of an hour, adding a seventh back-nine birdie at the par-five 18th.

However, Bjorn refused to dismiss the winning chances of a `couple of names` at the tournament, including Northern Irish ace Rory McIlroy and Donald given the Ryder Cup duo`s winning pedigree.
