Tiger wins the Challenge Match on eve of Desert Classic
Dubai: Tiger Woods may not have won a title
for more than a year now, but he did make some kind of start
in that direction, as he partnered close friend Mark O`Meara
to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic Challenge Match on the
eve of the much-awaited tournament.
The American pair, who have three Omega Dubai Desert
Classic titles between them, took on Lee Westwood and Miguel
Angel Jimnez and Jeev Milkha Singh and Noh Seung-yul over the
Emirates Golf Club’s Par 3 course.
Woods and O`Meara were four under par for the nine hole
Challenge, with Westwood and Jimenez two under par and Jeev
and Seung-yul one under par.

World Number One Westwood, runner up in the overall tournament
last year after losing in a play-off to Jimenez and 14 time
Major Champion Woods.
"It`s always fun to play with Mark. We don`t play as much
as we used to. Obviously he`s on the Senior Tour now and it`s
nice to catch up and play and we`ll have dinner this week.”
"It`s always fun. He`s like my big brother and it`s
always fun to get out there and play with him.I hit some good
shots and he made all the putts!," Woods said after the match.
