London: Golf ace Bubba Watson has backed World No.2 Rory McIlroy for the top spot in the world again, saying that it is only a matter of time before the Irish reclaims the place from the reigning Tiger Woods.
Woods is back at the top of the rankings after dropping to a career-low 58th in November 2011 following the controversial walk-out of Northern Ireland ace McIlroy from the Honda Classic in Florida last month after his 76 million-pound switch to Nike clubs.
Mentioning McIlroy`s regaining form at the Valero Open in Texas ahead of The Masters, the American Watson said that it is a matter of time before McIlroy wins back the No.1 spot from Woods, adding that he will retain the spot for a long time.
Watson, who begins the defence of his Green Jacket at Augusta, further said that McIlroy has not lost his talent and added that at his age, he is going to improve further.
Stating that no motivation is needed for McIlroy to win at the Maters, Watson said that although the Northern Irish golfer has admitted to losing his form recently, it will not be an issue for him at Augusta.
