New York, May 29: After doing a cameo in 2006 film `Bring It On`, R&B singer Rihanna is all set to venture into serious acting with her new movie. The `Umbrella` hitmaker, who seems to have moved on from the assault controversy involving her former boyfriend Chris Brown, has reportedly signed a film titled `Personal
Protection`.
The singer will start shooting the film later this year, the New York Daily News reported.
"Rihanna is currently taking acting classes ahead of her first movie role while working on new music in New York," a newspaper quoted a source.
"She`s not ready, acting wise, yet, so she`s meeting with a coach. Additional casting for the film will reportedly be announced after Rihanna has grasped the basics of acting,"
the source added.
If everything goes as planned, the film will hit the theatres in 2010.
The 21-year-old pop star is also believed to be considering working on the `Charlie`s Angels` sequel as well as a film project with Justin Timberlake, the source claimed.
Meanwhile, Brown is also said to be working on a new film the `Tearjecker`. The project will see the 20-year-old playing the role of a homeless character. "It is a real rags-to-riches story. It should be good for his image," said a source.
