I`m lucky to be part of India`s World Cup winning team: Shah
Vadodara: Second physio of the Indian cricket team, Amit Shah considers himself to be lucky to be a part of the World Cup winning team and said the victory at Mumbai was an unbelievable moment of his life.
"Sachin, Harbhajan Singh, Virendra Sehwag and I were sitting together in the dressing room watching the game and all of us were excited when captain Dhoni hit a winning six and hugged each other," Shah told reporters here today.
"It is difficult to describe this victory. It was unbelievable for me and I consider myself lucky to be part of Indian team winning the world cup within six months of my appointment as massage physio therapist," he added.
Amit Shah, who was appointed by BCCI last October as the second physio of Team India, said his job was to ease the pressure of the support staff.
"My job was to take care of the players getting injured during the matches. India had to contend with a growing list of injured players in recent times, and my inclusion was to ease the burden on the team`s support staff," he said.
Amit and Nitin Patel, team`s physio has been worked together for the last six month.
Amit was Kolkata Knight Riders` physio during the third edition of the Indian Premier League.
