Rupert Friend’s awkward slang mix-up with Michelle Pfeiffer

In what could be called as a ‘slang tangle’, Rupert Friend was embarrassed when his ‘Cheri’ co-star Michelle Pfeiffer unwittingly invited him to feel her up.

Washington, June 18: In what could be called as a ‘slang tangle’, Rupert Friend was embarrassed when his ‘Cheri’ co-star Michelle Pfeiffer unwittingly invited him to feel her up.
The British actor, who stars as Pfeiffer`s toyboy lover in the period drama, had to slap the American actress on the bottom in one scene. But Keira Knightely’s boyfriend was left red-faced during the shoot as Pfeiffer began referring to her backside using the American slang "fanny" - a term which refers to the female genitalia in British colloquialism. "There was one scene where Michelle`s getting a massage and I wanted to hit her on the bum; I asked if I could and Michelle said, ``Yeah, you can smack my fanny all you like!``” Contactmusic quoted Friend as saying. He added, “And in England a fanny means a completely different part (of the body)! In America it`s the middle of a woman in the back; in England it`s the middle of a woman in the front!" ANI
