London: Indian athletes continued to trickle in to the Olympic Games Village with shooters Sanjeev Rajput and Shagun Choudhary becoming the latest to arrive here.
Apart from Rajput and Choudhary, a clutch of officials also checked in at the Village. Press Attache Harpal Singh Bedi, Dr Sarala Rao, Dr Sanjogita Soodan and Physiotherapist Ramesh Trivedi from the medical team were among the officials who arrived yesterday. The Indian archers went for training at the Lord`s Cricket Ground while the shooters went for their practice at the Range and the Weightlifters had their workouts at the Excel Stadium. "The weather being most unpredictable with intermittent rains and bright sunshine is a real nightmare for those who are not accustomed to this variation in temperatures," said Deputy chef-de-mission Brig. P K Muralidharan Raja. "As more and more athletes and officials are entering the Games Village, the atmosphere is getting positive and vibrant. There is plenty of bonhomie and camaraderie in the Dining Hall when people from different countries meet each other and exchange pleasantries. "The Indian Team is eagerly awaiting the introduction of the Indian and Asian Food Counter as they are missing their home food. However, there is plenty of variety and the McDonalds is a great hit with the athletes and officials," he added. PTI
