Basanta Bahadur Rana: Basanta Bahadur Rana, the best of the ‘B’ qualifiers in the 50 km has received training from the former national record holder Gurdev Singh. He serves in the Indian army and qualified for the Olympics at the World Race Walking Cup in Russia in May.

Speaking to one of the leading dailies recently, Rana said that winning a medal wouldn’t be praised by his people from Nepal who actually don’t know its worth. He is determined to silence people who make a mockery of his sport and there couldn’t be a better opportunity than the London Games.
