London: Britain’s Ministry of Defence will be installing surface-to-air missiles to guard London during the Olympic Games.
According to a news agency, in a leaflet distributed to the residents of London the military confirmed on Saturday, "A high-velocity missile system may be situated on the roof" along with 10 soldiers to be stationed for two months in the building during the Games.
In a statement, a spokesman for the ministry of defence said, “Ground-based air defence systems could be deployed as part of a multi-layered air security plan for the Olympics, including fast jets and helicopters."
The 2012 Summer Olympic Games will take place in London from 27 July to 12 August 2012.
