Stephanie prefers being ‘dangerous wildcard’ to ‘hunted favourite’ for London Olympics

London: Australian star swimmer Stephanie Rice is lapping up the idea of being seen as a dangerous wildcard rather than a hunted favourite star in the London Olympics.
The triple Olympic champion digested the full landscape of contenders in the 400m individual medley in which American world champion Elizabeth Beisel is a hot favourite. “Fast swim, Elizabeth is definitely the frontrunner along with (Brit) Hannah Miley and there`s a gap to the next crew I`m sitting in,” Rice was quoted as saying. “I`m happy to be in that top mix of six or so girls. That`s a good place to be going into the Olympics,” she added. Rice is ranked No.4 in the world but only a fool would judge the gritty Queenslander out of the medal pace based on pure times after what all she has conquered just to get to London. ANI
