London Olympics 2012 Tennis: Paes-Vardhan reach second roundZeenews Sports Bureau

London: Indian duo of Leander Paes and Vishnu Vardhan defeated Dutch team of Robin Haase and Jean-Julien Rojer 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 to reach round 2 of the Olympics Men;s doubles event.

Third Set: Paes/Vardhan 6-2 Haase/Rojer

The Indian duo take the second third and the deciding set 6-2 to move into the second round. Paes/Vardhan had 10 winners as opposed Haase/Rojer's 6.

The Duo will now face No.2 seed Jo Wilfred Tsonga and Michael Llodra in the second round.

Second Set : Paes/Vardhan 4-6 Haase/Rojer

The Dutch take the second set 6-4. The Dutch had 18 winners as opposed to the Indians' 14. The aslo had 3 aces and the Indian pair had just one.


First Set: Paes/Vardhan 7-6 Haase/Rojer

The Indian pair of Leander Paes and Vishnu Vardhan won the first set 7-6 (7-1) in the tie breaker against the Dutch team of Robin Haase and Jean-Julien Rojer. The first set lasted 43 minutes.

Paes and Vardhan enjoyed a 100% second serve getting nine winners.
