New Delhi: Kimi Raikkonen says that he expected a tough 2014 Formula One season with Ferrari, Autosport reported on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old returned to Ferrari at the start of the 2014 season to partner with Fernando Alonso. The Italian stable failed to produce competitive car and both the drivers struggle in the championships.
"Obviously with the new team I expected it to be difficult because of how things work," the magazine quoted Raikkonen.
The Finn also admitted that it didn't make much difference as they were not fighting for the titles.
"When you're not fighting for the championship it makes no difference, it was just overall difficult all the time," he added.
The 2007 world champion apologize to Ferrari fans for the bad season and promised big improvement.
"I feel all the areas are going to make a big, big improvement... It's unfortunate we've had this kind of year because it's not good for me, Ferrari or fans of Ferrari, but that's part of the game," the former McLaren driver said.
