Armaan on pace for Magny-Cours race

India`s Armaan Ebrahim warmed up for this weekend`s third and fourth rounds of the Formula 2 Championship with a fifth quickest time in the afternoon test session on Thursday.

Magny-Cours: India`s Armaan Ebrahim warmed up for this weekend`s third and fourth rounds of the Formula 2 Championship with a fifth quickest time in the afternoon test session on Thursday.
The 21-year old Armaan, sponsored by JK Tyre, Amaron, Cornerstone Sports & Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Trimex, posted a ninth quickest time in the morning run before getting back on pace with a fifth fastest in the afternoon. However, for the final session in the evening, Armaan opted for old tyres and save the new set for tomorrow`s test and Saturday`s qualifying round. Armaan, who had finished seventh in the second round at Silverstone last month, said: "I am quite happy with my pace, though I still need to find another four-tenths to get to the top.”"We had a good outing today, especially in the third session when I was the fifth quickest. However, for the final session, we took a conscious decision to run on old tyres while saving the new set for Friday`s test session and the qualifying round on Saturday.” "Today`s session was more about learning the track that was new to me and not focusing too much on the time charts. I am looking forward to the race weekend and hoping to deliver a strong result."The 4.411 Km long circuit with 17 runs and a mix of slow hair-pins and fast chicanes is making its debut in the Formula 2 calendar this year.
