Button remains positive despite crash

Belgium: Formula One championship leader Jenson Button was a relieved man after his title rivals failed to take full advantage of his crash in the Belgian Grand Prix.
"I`m positive. There`s no reason to be down. I lost two points of my championship lead, which is not good... We`ve just got to hope it goes the other way at the next race," he told reporters. Button, who started 14th on the grid after his worst qualification this season, made an early surge but span after Romain Grosjean`s Renault shunted him from behind at turn five. The incident also prompted a collision between world champion Lewis Hamilton and Toro Rosso`s Jaime Alguersuari, forcing both off. Button`s team mate Rubens Barrichello took a modest two points after dropping to the back at the start because of a clutch problem and narrowed the gap at the top to 16. Sebastian Vettel is a further three points back after his third place, while a drive-through penalty meant fellow Red Bull driver Mark Webber came ninth and scored no points, slipping to fourth place in the championship."After the accident now it`s a relief, but having Rubens behind at the start was a good position to be in, and just behind the Red Bulls as well," Button said. The Red Bulls were firm favourites to win given the cooler conditions and the typically fast track, but only qualified in eight and ninth spots on the starting grid. Instead, Ferrari`s Kimi Raikkonen held the lead from lap five from Giancarlo Fisichella, who had secured a shock pole position for Force India. "This is a race we expected the Red Bulls to easily win, so it shows that a lot of teams are strong now," said Button. The championship moves on to Italy`s Monza in two weeks time. Bureau Report
