Shanghai: Lewis Hamilton, chasing a hat-trick of title in China, recovered from a suspension issue to beat morning session`s top driver, Fernando Alonso in the Free practice 2. The Mercedes driver clocked 1:01`38.315 to set the fastest time after a delayed start to his stint at the Shanghai International Circuit. Alonso, who set the fastest time in the practice 1, was 0.141 seconds slower to the Briton, and thus scripted a satisfactory Friday for Ferrari after a dismal start to the season. The Maranello based-outfit, under their new team principal Marco Mattiacci, are hoping for a change in fortune following their below par performance in the past few seasons. The Spaniard pipped German Nico Rosberg, who was 0.411secs behind Hamilton. Reigning champion, Sebatian Vettel improved his timing in the second session by posting fifth fastest time, but still behind his unheralded team-mate Daniel Ricciardo. Behind them are Williams`Felipe Massa, Ferrari`s Kimi Raikkonen, McLaren`s Jenson Button, and Lotus` Romain Grosjean. Force India duo of Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez could managed only 11th and 15th fastest times as the 19-year-old Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat impressed everyone by posting a timing of 1:01`39.648 for the 10th fastest time.
