New Delhi: Sergio Perez has been rested from Friday’s first free practice session with Mexican test driver Esteban Gutierrez replacing him.

"Due to the fact ... Pérez is unwell, the Sauber F1 Team has decided to let its reserve driver Esteban Gutierrez jump into the car for the fi
rst free practice session," the Sauber Formula One team said in a statement on Friday.

"This should help Sergio`s speedy recovery so he is able to drive for the remainder of the weekend."

As per reports, the decision for the second practice session will be taken later.
