New Delhi: Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel topped the first practice session at Buddh International Circuit on Friday. Vettel left behind his co-driver Mark Webber by 0.188 seconds to start off the Indian GP on a good note. The German driver has to finish among top five on race day to seal his fourth consecutive title. Meanwhile, Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg was third ahead of Lotus`s Romain Grosjean in P1. But Ferrari`s Fernando Alonso, who is at the second position in the Drivers’ Championship, suffered a gearbox problem. He only managed six laps to finish 12th fastest before being forced to leave the session. Vettel is the likely contender to win the Indian GP, for the third time in a row. He won the last five races of the season and would like to make it six at BIC on race day to claim his fourth consecutive world championship title.
