Monaco GP: Schumacher quickest but Webber takes pole

Monaco: Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher recorded the fastest time at the qualifying session at the Monaco racetrack, in Monaco, on Saturday.

In spite of the result, Australian Red Bull driver Mark Webber will start the race from pole position as Schumacher will be deprived of it due to a five place grid penalty.

Without the penalty, the 43-year-old German would have been on pole for the first time since the 2006 French Grand Prix and 69th time in his phenomenal career.

Nico Rosberg was third fastest ahead of Lewis Hamilton of McLaren.

I`ve always said the person who wins the world championship this year is the person who does the best job on the circuit, but that does not seem the way it is at the moment.
