London: Formula One legend Niki Lauda does not believe that seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher will join Mercedes next year.
Rumours have suggested that Schuey was ready to make a shock return after Mercedes bought the Brawn team.
Mercedes are not only prepared to put him in the seat vacated by world champion Jenson Button`s move to McLaren, but are open to discussion on a variety of other roles whether in the cockpit, management or as a roving ambassador and advisor.
"I don`t believe there is one grain of truth in them," the three-time world champ Lauda said.
"I cannot believe that he would be up for a full season. Why did he stop racing in the first place?" he asked.
