Organisers snub Maken, not invited for Indian GP
New Delhi: Bollywood celebrities and cricket stars are set to grace the inaugural Formula One Indian Grand Prix on Sunday but one dignitary who would be conspicuous by his absence would be Sports Minister Ajay Maken who has not yet been invited for the high-profile event by the organisers.
According to sources, Maken was not invited by the organisers, Jaypee Group for the final day race at the brand-new state-of-the-art Buddh International Circuit at Greater Noida.
Interestingly, the organisers had sought a Rs 100 crore tax exemption for the event, which the government has denied to entertain.
Among the who's who of the celebrities who were invited for the high-profile race tomorrow include Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Arjun Rampal and cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir.
