The most awaited British Grand Prix race-day got off to a dismal start in the first lap after Ferrari`s Kimi Raikkonen, suffered a huge shunt. The Finn clipped a bump as it unsettled his car and sent him flying into the barriers. The red flag was brought out as a limping Kimi Raikkonen was getting into the medical car. Meanwhile, Williams driver Felipe Massa who was approaching from behind was smart enough to pitch his car into a spin to avoid a head-on accident with Raikkonen. The Brazilian did a great avoiding job as it turned out to be an extra-ordinary reaction. Williams have taken Massa`s damaged car to the garage and he will not take further part in the race. The race will restart based on the current position during the first lap of the race. Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg will start in P1 with Jenson Button second and Kevin Magnussen third. The Force India team tweeted that the race stewards were getting the job done on fixing the damaged guard rail. Team Caterham also expressed that their driver Kabui Kobayashi escaped unscathed and that both the drivers are fine. Meanwhile, Ferrari have confirmed that Kimi Raikkonen hasn`t got badly injured. A spokesperson had stated that he got some bruiseson his knees and ankle and he will be back very soon. But it was a sad outcome for Felipe Massa as his race came to an end. The race is on its way to start behind the safety car.
