Red Bull’s Webber targeting to finish 2012 F1 season ahead of Vettel

Melbourne: Red Bull’s Formula One driver Mark Webber says that his target for the 2012 season is to finish in front of his teammate and double world champion Sebastian Vettel.

The 35-year-old is focused on improving his record from last season, where he could only manage one win in the final race of the year compared to Vettel’s 11 victories and 18 podiums in a record-setting campaign.

“I am very, very optimistic I am going to have a very, very strong season next year. It will be different from this season and I reckon I’ll be able to take the fight to Seb for the championship,” a leading daily quoted Webber, as saying.

Webber had finished last season on third spot with 258 points, while Vettel had 392 points.
